Targeted, precise and effective muscular and soft tissue treatment.
Remedial Massage is the assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue of the body, and management of muscular conditions, which can cause muscular dysfunction, pain and loss of movement. Our Massage Therapists at Family Chiropractic Berwick utilise a range of treatment techniques to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structures. Our Massage Therapist offers Remedial Massage, Relaxation Massage, Sports Massage, and Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
Remedial Massage can treat muscular dysfunctions caused by trauma, overload or misuse of muscles from occupational, sporting or recreational activities.
Our Massage Therapists use a variety of techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and stretching techniques to help release trigger points to alleviate tightness in muscles.
Did you know?
The knots that you feel in your muscles are called ‘trigger points’. They can cause aches, pain, tenderness and referred pain. What will happen in my Remedial Massage treatment?
Your first Remedial Massage consultation will typically commence with thorough history taking followed by a muscle, joint, and postural assessment. Your Massage Therapist will then advise the best treatment plan for you, outlining which techniques may be used and how the treatment will be carried out.
Having you lie on the treatment table, the Massage Therapist will aim to ease your pain, release muscular and soft tissue tightness and stiffness, and allow you to return to your daily activities moving and feeling better. The treatment will end with various post treatment advice including stretches, heat or ice application, and a recommendation on a follow up treatment.
